a0.4.0 is live. This update is about giving crafting something to gamble on — every item you make now rolls affixes, and the inventory UI finally shows you what they are.
Item Affixes
Every crafted item now rolls two affixes at the forge. Which affixes are available depends on the slot: weapons pull from a weapon pool, armour from an armour pool, accessories from their own. A universal pool fills in as a second roll for any slot.
The current pool covers 16 affixes across five categories:
- Weapon — Keen (+ATK), Swift Strikes (−CD), Sharpened (+ATK%), Reach (+range)
- Armour — Fortified (+DEF), Resilient (+HP), Sturdy (+HP%)
- Legs — Swift Stride (+speed), Rolling (−roll CD)
- Accessory / Talisman — Vampiric (+leech), Life on Kill, Parrying Charm (+parry lifesteal), Attuned (+ATK%)
- Universal — Hearty (+HP), Tough (+DEF), Sharp (+ATK), Regenerating (+regen)
Two items with the same blueprint are no longer identical. Crafting is now a gambling loop: you’re not just choosing what to make, you’re hoping to roll well.
New Item UI
The equipment and chest panels now look the way they should have from the start. Each item is a slot cell — dark background, quality-coloured border, name centred inside. Gray for common, green for uncommon, blue for rare, purple for epic or talent-affixed.
Hovering (or holding on mobile) over any item shows a floating tooltip: item name in quality colour, slot type, base stats in a labelled grid, then affixes with their values. If you’re looking at a chest item, the tooltip also shows a delta section — green if the stat improves on what’s equipped, red if it doesn’t. Double-tap to equip or unequip directly from the tooltip.
New Buildings
Three new buildings extend the production chain:
Smelter — converts raw ore into metal bars. Iron ore becomes iron bars, copper ore into copper bars, and so on up the tier ladder. Previously smelting happened implicitly inside the workshop; it’s now a dedicated step with its own production slot.
Tannery — processes hides into leather. Same principle: wolf hides become leather, dragon hides become dragon leather.
Alchemist — brews potions for your next arena run. Strength tonic, iron skin brew, lucky draught, and vitality elixir. Only one active potion at a time; the alchemist shows which is running and lets you replace it before the next run.
Expanded Item Catalogue
The crafting tree now covers the full material progression from copper through mythril. New items include full armour sets at each tier (helm, chest, legs), a hunting bow, several new accessories, and mythril-tier variants of existing gear. Recipes span the workshop, jeweler, tannery, and smelter, so each building has a reason to exist across the whole progression.
Rift Leaderboard Foundation
The server now tracks rift scores. Each completed rift run is submitted with the level cleared and clear time; only new bests are stored. The leaderboard route ranks players by highest rift level, then duration as tiebreaker. This is the backend piece — the in-game rift run mode is next.
What’s Next
The rift run mode: a timed push through scaling enemies where the rift level you clear becomes your rank. Talent affixes on rift drops — items that extend your talent tree past the normal cap — are already in the affix pool waiting to be wired up.
